Knitting might be faster but it's a lot less flexible. You wouldn't just sit down and knit a jellyfish the first time you ever knitted.
Anyway OBVIOUSLY if you want any help/ideas/whatever re: crochet just let me know okay? Crocheting flat stuff isn't as fun as crocheting in the round but there's a whole realm of things in between, too.
